Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen Releases New Extended Trailer
A new extended PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Gintama on Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen anime film, which will premiere in Japanese theaters on June 21, 2024.
The film is a theatrical edit of the original anime’s “Courtesan of a Nation Arc,” which ran from episodes 257–261.
Previous voice cast members from the TV anime are reprising their roles for the Ikkoku Keisei-hen film. The first theatrically edited film, Gintama on Theater 2D: Thorny Arc, was released in Japan on November 10, 2023.
Hideaki Sorachi’s original sci-fi comedy manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 8, 2003 to September 15, 2018. It was then moved to Jump Giga from December 28, 2018 to February 22, 2019. The manga then completed its publication in the free Gintama app from May 13, 2019 to June 20, 2019. A total of 77 tankobon volumes were released.
The manga series inspired a long-running TV anime series, as well as three anime films, OVAs, event anime specials, two live-action films, and a live-action web miniseries. VIZ Media released the manga’s first 23 tankobon volumes in English until 2011.
