Severe Storm Chance To Start Week In IL, Weather Dries Out By Mid-Week
ILLINOIS — A chance of severe storms will kick off this week's weather in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered non-severe storms are possible Monday morning to afternoon for far northern Illinois, especially near Interstate 39, the weather service said. Then, after 3 p.m., additional storms are possible, some of which may be strong to severe.Severe storms could produce hail and damaging winds, the weather service said.Monday will be warm, with a high of 86 degrees."Coverage of storms is less certain further to the southeast of I-55 and into northwest Indiana," the weather service said on its Facebook.Additional storms are possible on Tuesday, which will be more humid with a high of 86 degrees. Conditions will dry out toward Wednesday and Thursday, the weather service said. Wednesday will have a high of 85 degrees, and Thursday a high of 81. Friday will be dry and sunny, but slightly cooler with a high of 74, according to the weather service forecast.
