In April 2023, the "Coming Home" rapper’s ex Cassie Ventura accused him of rape, sex trafficking and domestic violence in a lawsuit. The case was settled with both parties announcing that they resolved the claims to their "mutual satisfaction.” Following the settlement, Diddy has been accused of similar crimes by a variety of people. In February, producer and videographer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones filed a lawsuit in New York federal court alleging that the rapper previously sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him while he was working with him on his recent Love album from September 2022 to November 2023. The following month, the rapper’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by federal agents.

In May, a new surveillance video of Diddy grabbing, shoving and kicking Ventura during a 2016 altercation was released and matches the allegations she made in the now-settled lawsuit. Most recently, CNN reported that the U.S. Justice Department may be preparing to file an indictment against Diddy after he was named in eight civil lawsuits.Several celebrities have weighed in on the situation with Aubrey O’Day – who previously claimed that Combs asked her to sign an NDA to never disparage the rapper and his label – exclusively telling PEOPLE that she doesn't "feel vindicated at all" by the recent allegations and John Legend telling CNN that he was “horrified by the allegations.” For more People news, make sure to sign up for our newsletter!
