Election Day 2024: D'Esposito Faces Gillen In Rematch For 4th C.D.
ISLAND PARK, NY — Election Day is Nov. 5, and one race on Long Island could be tight. Republican Anthony D'Esposito is vying for a second term as the representative from the 4th Congressional District. His challenger is familiar to D'Esposito and voters. Laura Gillen lost to D'Espostito in 2022 by fewer than 10,000 votes. It's a rematch of the incumbent and Gillen, the former Hempstead Supervisor. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report gives the NY-4 a "toss-up" status, which they define as "either party having a good chance of winning."D'Esposito came to Congress after serving as a Town of Hempstead council member. He was also an NYPD detective. The article Election Day 2024: D'Esposito Faces Gillen In Rematch For 4th C.D. appeared first on Wantagh-Seaford, NY Patch.
