Urgent recall warnings as 300,000 vehicles sent back to dealership for parts that could fly off

Ford is recalling more than 300,000 vehicles in the US over concerns a brake booster module might fail while driving, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday.
The agency flagged that the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) on some 2025 models might fail while driving or using the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature, causing a loss of power brake assist.
Loss of power brake assist while driving can extend stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.

As a remedy, the EBB module software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge, NHTSA said.
The recall affects certain 2025 Lincoln Navigator, F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles.
In May, Ford announced it was recalling 273,789 vehicles in the U.S. due to a loss of brake function.
The recall targeted certain 2022-2024 model Navigator and Expedition vehicles, according to the NHTSA.
In impacted vehicles, it was feared that the front brake lines may come into contact with the engine air cleaner outlet pipe, potentially damaging the lines and causing brake fluid to leak.
And in April, the car giant recalled more than 148,000 vehicles in the U.S. as part of two separate recalls.
Due to a fluid leak that could reduce braking performance and increase stopping distance, 123,611 vehicles were recalled. This affected certain 2017–18 Ford F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator models.
Dealers were expected to replace the affected parts like the master cylinder or the brake booster, free of charge, the U.S. auto safety regulator said.
Separately, Ford called back 24,655 of its 2025 Explorer vehicles as it was found that a powertrain control module (PCM) may reset while driving, which can damage the vehicle's park system or cause an engine stall, according to the regulator.
