HGTV is a major network with a huge fanbase, as well as a unique lineup of original shows. Based on the latest updates making the rounds, one show loved by fans recently got canceled, and viewers are not happy about it. So, what do we know about this situation, and who got the ax?
HGTV Is A Huge Network With Popular Shows That Fans Love
HGTV was founded in December of 1994, and, like most major networks nowadays, it took some time to really get off the ground and running. Even though it’s a huge draw now, the idea of watching people do home renovations was a little bit of a stretch 30 years ago.
As longtime fans of the network have seen, much like the Food Network and others that started out small, HGTV has grown into a huge draw over the years, and it has turned countless personalities into bonafide stars in the home renovation and house-flipping space.

HGTV Cancels Major Show, Which Program Got The Ax?
With news of HGTV not moving forward with one of their popular shows, many fans are curious about which program got the boot. Unfortunately, Married To Real Estate is the latest casualty, a show that is now dead in the water after several seasons on the network.
The program debuted in January of 2022. It followed Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, as they helped people in the Atlanta area get into their dream homes. This is an unexpected turn of events, not just for viewers, but the cast members themselves.
Egypt Sherrod took to social media, saying, “Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate.”
Egypt continued, adding, “While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other).”
Fans React To Married To Real Estate Cancellation
Fans of Married To Real Estate have been chiming in with their two cents. Viewers have had plenty to say about it since the news broke.
One recent commenter said, “This makes me so angrrrrryyyyy!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!”
A second commenter added, “I guess it’s finally time to stop watching HGTV. They have gotten rid of all my favorite shows. I was already annoyed with the lack of garden/outdoor shows and their move to give influencers tv shows and now this.”
Another person said, “I honestly don’t understand the direction that HGTV is taking. This sucks beyond belief.”
