Westport Store To Shutter Amid Chain Closure

WESTPORT, CT — Sundance stores will be closing, including the Connecticut location in Westport.The chain has 16 shops around the country, according to its website, and the Westport store is the only one in Connecticut. The business was originally founded by world-famous actor and filmmaker Robert Redford.The store sells a variety of clothing, apparel, jewelry and home decor. The website indicates “everything must go,” and the business is offering discounts.The Connecticut store is at 97 Main St. in Westport.Staff at the local store indicated Tuesday they don’t yet have a specific date for when it will be closing, though they anticipate remaining open a few more weeks.Sundance did not respond to requests for comment.The chain’s website says all purchases are final, and it can no longer accept returns, exchanges or issue refunds on purchases made after June 23.Redford, star of films such as “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” sold the business in 2004, according to the Wall Street Journal.
