MANCHESTER UNITED’S clash with Brentford erupted into huge controversy over the visitors’ opening goal on the stroke of half-time.

The Red Devils were furious – with Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag shown the yellow card for his protests.
De Ligt had first gone off for medical attention to a head cut on the brink of first-half stoppage time.
And the Dutchman still appeared to be bleeding when he returned.
Four minutes later he was told to leave the pitch for more attention.
And a major row blew up when Brentford scored while the Dutchman was on the sidelines.
