2025 defensive line Caleb Bell talks summer official visits and decision timeline
2025 defensive end prospect Caleb Bell was quite active in opposing backfields during his junior season at Milton (Ga.) High School. Overall, he totaled 75 tackles with 10 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and 17 quarterback hurries.
Last month Bell continued to fine-tune his game on the edge of the defensive line and is looking for more success this fall.
“We had spring football and finished up last month,” Bell recalled. “I am just at defensive end again and I want to learn the playbook better and make it more second nature. Last season I felt like I did good even though I could have done better. I got first-team all-region and all-state, and my tackling was good last year and so was my pass rush.”
At the next level, Bell has already compiled a nice list of Power 5 offers. He was able to venture out and unofficially visit a few schools during the spring period. He also has four official visits scheduled for the month of June, as well.
“Some of my main offers would be Kentucky, Missouri, Colorado, Mississippi State and N.C. State,” said the 6-foot-3 and 260-pound Bell. “I went to N.C. State, Arkansas and Georgia Tech in the spring and I have a few official visits set up for the summer, too. I have taken an official visit to Georgia Tech and i am going on visits to N.C. State, Arkansas and Mississippi State (June 21-23).”
Bell received several of those Power 5 offers last month, including Mississippi State. He noted of his recent talks with Mississippi State defensive line coach David Turner and shared his thoughts on the Bulldogs’ program.
“It’s going good with Mississippi State’s staff,” Bell remarked. “I’ve been talking a lot with Coach Turner and we talk about my official visit and just Dline stuff. I know most about their program through Coach Turner and it’s a good program in the SEC.”
With new offers steadily rolling in, Bell is keeping an open mind on the recruiting trail. He has not narrowed down his list of favorites thus far and wants to experience official visits before doing that.
“Right now I am just keeping it even,” Bell added. “All of the schools I mentioned, they are all even and nobody has really pulled away yet. So I will see how those visits go and go from there.”
Regarding a decision timeframe, Bell does have more clarity on that aspect. He also knows what he is looking for at the next level.
“I would like to make my decision in early season, right around the time the season starts,” noted Bell. “I will look at the best fit, who can get me to the next level and the coaches. I want to make sure I am comfortable with the school, too.”
