PC version of The Last of Us Part II has been ready for half a year, claims insider

Back in late January, Sony and Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part II Remastered – a native PS5 version of last-gen’s swan song featuring enhanced visuals, improved performance and new side modes. Though the game is expected to make its way onto the PC platform in the near future, there’s been no official word on this. That said, according to one insider, the PC port has been ready for more than 6 months.
According to known leaker Billbil-kun (and reported/translated by VGC), the PC version of The Last of Us Part II has been in the works since 2021 – likely at the same time as the PS5 version.
Adding further context, the leaker claimed “we believe that the game’s development is well and truly complete, dating back to at least November 2023,” meaning it totally could have released alongside the PS5 version.
That said, it is likely that the port is being held back as to give PS5 players a period of exclusivity – as well as allowing Sony to possibly tie the PC release with the impending 2nd season of the HBO show, which is arriving some time next year.
