NBA Finals Game 4 Thread: Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks

Will the Celtics sweep and win a record breaking 18th NBA title or can the Mavericks give their fans some hope? The greatest of all NBA team records may reside in Boston by night’s end. The Boston Celtics can win their 18th NBA championship Friday in Dallas, finally breaking the tie with their long-time rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. They’re one win away after Wednesday’s back-breaking win over the Dallas Mavericks.
For Jaylen Brown, it could be another big milestone. Already the NBA’s highest paid player, Brown could very well wind up as the MVP of the Finals. As for Luka Doncic, subject of criticism for his poor defense, a win would help him redeem himself.
WHO: Boston Celtics (3) at Dallas Mavericks (0)
WHEN: 8:30 p.m. ET
WHERE: ABC and YouTube
And should Celtics sweep, and the Finals end Friday night, teams can start negotiations with their own free agents Saturday morning at 12:01 a.m. It’s a new wrinkle under new CBA, giving teams a head start over rivals when it comes to their own players. In the Nets case of course that means Nic Claxton could be off the market early if he agrees to accept Brooklyn’s offer.
