Lucky Charms: Reporting on two Notre Dame commits’ June official visit dates
Here are today’s Lucky Charms, a Monday-Thursday insider notes article on Notre Dame football recruiting.
*** Ironton (Ohio) High’s Shaun Terry, the No. 449 overall recruit and No. 73 wide receiver in the country per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, isn’t one to talk to the media much, so we had to hit up sources to confirm when the shifty playmaker is making his way to South Bend next. His official visit date will be the weekend of June 7, which will be his third time on campus. He checked out ND in January, committed in February and returned to campus in March.
Terry did make a visit to Missouri earlier in the spring that ended up getting reported elsewhere, which Blue & Gold can confirm took place. The Irish staff and Terry are on the same page coming off that trip a couple months back and all appears to be well between the two parties. Terry looks to be solid with his Notre Dame pledge.
*** Green Bay (Wis.) Notre Dame De La Baie Academy’s James Flanigan, who is listed as the No. 161 overall player and No. 8 tight end in the land according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, has been busy working on returning to states for track. He’s locked in with his Irish pledge, and the four-star prospect tells Blue & Gold that he’ll be in South Bend the weekend of June 7 as well.
By our account, Notre Dame has 13 official visitors on campus June 14 and 14 the weekend of June 7.
*** Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School’s Simeon Caldwell, the No. 59 overall player and No. 8 safety in the country per the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, tells On3’s Chad Simmons that three schools have emerged in his recruitment: Florida State, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
“Right now, I’m taking it slowly,” Caldwell said about his recruitment. “I’ve picked up more offers this spring, so I’m going to start considering it more after the spring because I feel like I’m going to pick up a few more offers. Once I get a lot of the offers and the recruiting period begins, I’m going to start narrowing down my list in the summer and the fall.”
Sources were buzzing about how well Caldwell’s Notre Dame visit went during the spring, and here’s what he said to Simmons about the South Bend trip:
“I had a great time there. They treated me very well. I got the chance to talk to coach Marcus Freeman and coach Al Golden and I loved spending time with them. Before starting the defensive meeting, coach Golden makes all the players go around and high five each other to build the brotherhood. You can see how everyone likes each other and respects each other.”
