While Walking Back To His College Dorm In The Snow One Night, He Thought He Saw His Crush, But He Really Ran Into A Ghost Who Knew His Nickname
This man named Muhammad is the first in his family to graduate from high school and college. His mom sadly passed away in a car wreck when he was 15. He felt that graduating from high school and moving away from home to attend college would have made his mom happy.
While applying to colleges, Muhammad’s scholarship essay pertained to what entrepreneurship meant to him.
Eventually, he was offered a full-ride scholarship to the school of his choice and ultimately decided to attend Juniata College. He was in college from 2002 until he graduated in 2006.
During college, Muhammad made wonderful memories and had an amazing group of friends he’ll cherish forever. He loved music and theatre, and since he’d been playing the saxophone since 2nd grade, he was a saxophone player in the jazz band.
For years, he daydreamed about becoming a successful saxophonist like the legendary Johnny Coltrane.
In the middle of January 2005, Muhammad was participating in a theatre production. One night, their performance ended late, and he’d been in charge of sound for the stage.
During the performance, he wore all-black, and after the production was over, he exited the theatre from the back entrance. From there, he walked to a building utilized for music students to practice.
“It was an old, converted house that was typically open late. So, I arrived, and it was still open. That night, I was practicing the tenor saxophone solo to Buddy Rich’s ‘Channel One Suite.’ The time went by, and the lights were motion detection, so it went dark. I got up so that the sensor could turn the light back on. My mother always told me I was a bit clairvoyant,” Muhammad said.
Once he sat down in his chair to continue practicing, he felt like someone was watching him. He stopped the CD he’d been listening to and stopped playing his sax.

Moments later, a security guard entered the building and informed Muhammad that he’d be closing the building for the night and that he needed to leave. He gathered his belongings and left after telling the security guard to have a good night.
After leaving the building, Muhammad wandered through the snow with his sax. His dorm, South Hall, near the football field and event hall, was on the other side of the college campus. As he walked, he noticed a woman near the library to his right.
The snow was falling, and the woman, who wore a winter hat and coat, had her back to him. Muhammad assumed it was just another student and continued his journey to his dorm.
“As this person got to one of the streetlight fixtures by the library, she turned around and said, ‘Mo, it wasn’t me, I promise.’ I said, ‘Haha, what do you mean? Megan? Is that you?’ All the while, I thought it was my friend Megan, who also lived in South Hall. ‘Oh, never mind,’ she replied. My good friends only called me Mo, so I am convinced I know this person,” he explained.
Because it was snowing so much, Muhammad couldn’t see her face clearly, and she began walking toward the Cloister dorm, the oldest dormitory on campus. He’d heard that a lot of weird things happened in Cloister.
Since he often played ultimate frisbee (and ran a lot during games), he was fit and could run quickly. Muhammad was about 10 or 15 feet away from the woman, and he was positive this woman was his friend, Megan.
At the time, he was romantically interested in Megan and wanted to hang out with her more, so he called out, “Hey, wait up, Megan! Let’s walk together.”
As he rushed to catch up, it was impossible, even though she was walking slower than him, which he thought was weird. Finally, Muhammad was almost three feet behind her, and the woman turned around to face him.
“She passed through the archway, and I still couldn’t make out a face. I was right behind her a split second after she made her way into the arch. I turned into the arch, and there was no one to be seen, just silence,” Muhammad shared.
Terrified, he raced to his dorm as quickly as possible, trying not to fall into the snow. Muhammad rushed up the stairs of the building and ran into Megan.
He grabbed her shoulders and told her, “‘Please tell me you were just outside messing with me?'” Megan told him she hadn’t been outside because it was freezing. She said he looked scared and like he’d “seen a ghost,” and she wanted to know if he was all right.
Muhammad let go of Megan’s shoulders, backed away from her without a word, and walked to his room. While he was in college, Google quickly became the main source of information as opposed to other websites like AskJeeves and DogPile.
After pulling up Google, he typed the phrase the woman first said to him: “Mo, it wasn’t me, I promise.”
The search results terrified him. He stumbled across a blog post titled “There’s a Guy Who’s Playing the Saxophone at 3 a.m. and He Won’t Shut Up.”
When he clicked on the post, there was a comment that read, “‘Mo, it wasn’t me, I promise.'” It hit too close to home since he had been practicing the sax before running into this ghost.
