Vance gives remarks at global security conference

by The Hill Staff
Vice President Vance
is set to give remarks in Washington on Wednesday as part of the Munich Leaders Meeting on global security.
The Q&A, which will be led by former German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger, comes a day after a rollercoaster election in Germany, when a new chancellor was elected. It also follows Vance’s harsh criticism of free speech practices in the European Union, which German leaders pushed back on.
The topic of global security is primary of interest as the U.S. seeks to help broker ceasefire deals in the Middle East and Eastern Europe — and as tensions rise between Pakistan and India after the latter hit their neighbor with deadly strikes near the Kashmir region, which both nations claim as their own.
