Tua Tagovailoa vows to ‘stay healthy for our guys’ after missing time in injury-plagued 2024 season

WHEN Tua Tagovailoa is healthy, the Miami Dolphins have one of the best offenses in football.
However, when he’s hurt, the Dolphins struggle mightily to win games.

Tua knows that his health is important for the Dolphins’ playoff chances.
He made it known at this year’s training camp that he is going to do everything he can to avoid taking unnecessary hits.
“Me not putting myself in situations where I’m not available for my team, and then we take it from there,” Tagovailoa said.
“If I can stay healthy for our guys, I believe, and I think the team believes, that I give us the best chance to go do what we say we want to do.”
Tua missed four games early in the 2024 season due to another concussion.
He then missed the final two games of the season with a hip injury.
When Tua was on the field, the Dolphins played to a 6-5 record.
Without him, the team was just 2-4 while rotating various quarterbacks.
If the Dolphins won just two more games they could have made the playoffs.
“A lot of the guys on the team, we hear the noise, we hear all that, but it’s OK,” Tagovailoa said.
“It’s OK for people to have their opinions.
“What are we going to do about it?”
NFL fans have plenty of opinions, and shared those on social media.
“smart play > risky highlight reel = health first,” one fan said.
“That’s weird because that seems like it’s been his goal for the last 5 years?” another fan said.
