Jax Taylor’s Insults to Brittany Cartwright Before Split Revealed

Some fans were shocked to find out how much stress Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were hiding in their marriage.
But in The Valley’s Season 1 finale, all of that pent-up tension came pouring out in one last blowup. Brittany had had enough of Jax’s blaming her for everything and finally moved out of their Valley Village home, taking their three-year-old son Cruz with her.
During the June 4 episode, Britt laid down the law and told her husband of nearly five years, “You’re not just gonna get away with the way you’ve treated me for all these years.”
Enough is enough
In a flashback, the Kentucky Muffin recalled all the verbal abuse Jax had thrown at her over the years, while Kristen Doute and Zack Whickham listened.
“Does he say, ‘I know I treat you like sh*t … I know I’ve called you fat, and I’ve told you you’re f*cking lazy,’ and that you’re not going to have any friends if you guys break up?” Kristen asked.
“That was one of the main things,” Brittany admitted, “him saying I have no friends here in L.A.”
In an effort to placate his wife, Jax told Brittany he’d finally made an appointment with a therapist to discuss his anger issues. But she didn’t fall for his ploy and quickly called him out.
“Jax has been saying that he’s gonna go to therapy for years now,” she said. “The day before we pick cameras back up, he all of a sudden has an appointment to go see the doctor. This is all a front … I bet you money he will not do it.”
Sure enough, Jax admitted on camera that he never went to his therapy appointment because it was “really far away.” Why didn’t he schedule one closer to home then?

“Do you want me back, or are you just gonna sit there and let me go?” Britt asked in frustration. “Because I will go.”
“I do want you back, but you know what?” he responded. “You decided to leave me, which is hard for me in the beginning. But as the time’s been going on, this has been nice. Don’t you agree?”
Sounds to me like Jax’s fragile ego is hurt. She left him, so now he’s mad. Why did he ever get married in the first place when he treated her so terribly? Did he ever really love her?
“I think it’s been amazing,” she agreed. I’m sure she’s enjoyed the peace and quiet of not having someone yelling at her constantly.
Finally, Britt tearfully confronted Jax over his alleged insults, “You screamed at me, said horrible things to me. That I had no friends here. That nobody liked me here.”
“I never said that,” Jax quickly denied. Then thinking again, he asked, “I’m sorry. Were we out drinking?”
At last, the Kentucky native decided she might just be better off without him. Jax will never change.
“I’ve come into my own,” she pronounced. “I just feel like I have woken up … I’ll be okay because I know my worth, and I know I don’t deserve to be in a relationship like this. What was I thinking staying with him this long?”
The Valley is now streaming on Peacock.
