One Piece Fan Letter To Air on October 20, Commemorates Anime’s 25th Anniversary
One Piece Fan Letter, a One Piece 25th anniversary commemoration work that’s inspired by One Piece novel Wagiwara Stories, will be broadcast in Japan on October 20 JST.
One Piece Fan Letter has Megumi Ishitani (One Piece Episode 957, 982, 1015, OP26) for its director and Keisuke Mori (“Where The Wind Blows” music video) for its character designer. Momoka Toyoda (My Happy Marriage co-series composer, One Piece – Episode of East Blue: Luffy and His Four Friends’ Great Adventure assistant director) is responsible for the script.
One Piece novel Wagiwara Stories was released in 2017 and is written by Tomohito Osaki. The volume collects a series of short stories published in One Piece Magazine that depict the Straw Hats from the perspective of “regular people,” and also adds new content.
The Toei Animation-produced One Piece TV anime adaptation premiered in 1999, a couple of years after the start of Eiichiro Oda‘s manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. The manga has been collected into 109 tankoubon volumes as of July 2024, and is described by VIZ Media as:

The manga has also inspired a 1998 Production I.G-produced OVA, a 2023 live-action Netflix adaptation, and an upcoming WIT STUDIO-produced anime remake.
