Pleasanton Police Post Pics Of Carjacking Suspects, Then Remove Them
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton police released photos of three suspects believed to be connected to an attempted carjacking in Pleasanton, and robbery at the Sunol Corners Little Market, but they were taken down by Monday for unclear reasons. A Pleasanton Police Department spokesperson told Patch that the photos were released over the weekend, then “subsequently removed due to the response.” Police did not elaborate when asked what sort of response caused the department to remove the photos.KTVU reposted blurry shots of the three suspects. One is seen wearing a black backpack, a dark blue shirt, dark blue jeans, and a baseball cap. A second is seen wearing an orange sweatshirt, black pants, and a black backpack, and a third is wearing what appears to be a white and orange jacket, black sweatpants with a white stripe through them, and black pants. Facial features are not clear. Security footage from the Sunol Corners Little Market robbery on April 27 at about 4 p.m., also provided by KTVU, shows two men in red sweatshirts running into the market, taking items, and running off. One suspect is wearing a red sweatshirt with white letters spelling out “Empire”, black pants, and a white face mask. Another is wearing a red and white sweatshirt. In another video, the two suspects are seen running into an early 2000s gold Nissan Pathfinder SUV.Patch is awaiting further information on the robbery from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. At around 5:25 p.m. the same day, a Pleasanton man heard two gunshots around the 300 block of Neal Street. He was then approached by an unidentified man who demanded he surrender the keys to his car. After the man refused to comply, the suspect lifted his shirt and revealed a handgun tucked in his waistband. The man ran into his home, and the suspect ran from the scene with an accomplice. Despite a thorough search of the area, no suspects were found.Police believe the events are linked.
