2 Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Employees Honored
GREENPORT, NY — Two Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital employees have been honored with the esteemed Laura Goodale Award for 2024.This year's winners include Jose Vargas, LCSW-R, CASAC 2, and Erin Corazzini, LPN. The award, established in 1986 by Carl E. Vail, Sr. and the Southold-Greenport Rotary, recognizes individuals who exemplify the spirit of Laura Goodale, a former ELIH nurse "renowned for her extraordinary service," according to the hospital.Courtesy SBELIH"Vargas has been a vital member of the Behavioral Health Team, serving as a clinical supervisor at Quannacut Outpatient Services since 2015. Rising from personal challenges, Mr. Vargas humbly accepts this award, highlighting his deep passion for helping people and dedication to fostering an exceptional and collaborative work environment," the hospital said in a release.And, the SBELIH added: "Ms. Corazzini comes from a line of SBELIH caregivers, as both her parents worked at the hospital.
