Jet Skier Rescued After Hitting Sand Bar In Dark: Police
MASSAPEQUA, NY — A jet skier in distress was rescued in Massapequa Friday night, police said.According to Nassau County police, the water emergency took place at 9:20 p.m.Police said a 911 call came in about the jet skier in distress near Great Island. A Nassau County Police Department aviation helicopter 6 and Nassau County Marine 6, using their spotlights, were able to locate the jet ski, police said.The jet ski had struck a sand bar and become disabled, police said.
