Dolphins LT Terron Armstead is OUT vs. Chargers

The Miami Dolphins start their 2023 regular-season campaign at SoFi Stadium as they take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately for Mike McDaniel’s squad, they’ll be without one of their best players, as the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reports that left tackle Terron Armstead will miss the game.
Armstead has been dealing with back, ankle and knee injuries for the last few weeks. He had a knee scope earlier in the offseason and then was landed on during training camp.
McDaniel has said prior to Friday’s practice that they would test him to see what he could do on the field, but it must not have been enough to feel comfortable with him playing in Week 1.
Without the veteran, the Dolphins will likely turn to Kendall Lamm to play Armstead’s position. Lamm originally joined Miami last season following stints with the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans.
Lamm played just one game for the Dolphins last season, but he opted to return to South Florida this offseason on a one-year deal. In the preseason, he performed admirably enough to earn the swing job despite some other competition in the form of veterans and rookies.
