The pop sensation briefly deleted her account over the weekend but made a return Sunday evening.
Since being back on the photo-sharing platform the singer has shared a series of her usual dancing videos and selfies – but her latest post has got fans scratching their heads.
On Monday night, Britney reposted a clip from a meme account under the handle @girlrewind, which showed two teenage girls and a younger girl cracking eggs into a glass bowl.
The two older girls cracked their eggs onto the younger girl’s forehead leaving her visibly upset and confused, as they burst into a fit of laughter.
The young girl then said: “Hey, that wasnt very nice,” and proceeded to crack her egg on one of the older girl’s foreheads for payback.
Although the clip was of a playful prank it seemed as though it did not sit right with Britney.
Alongside her repost of the clip, Britney wrote: “IF SHE WOULD HAVE ONLY JUST SLAPPED THE S**T OUT OF THEM … STAY CLASSY FOLKS!!!!
“Psss nobody’s laughing when she does it back to them … well they are laughing here but what if I showed up there ??? [sic]” her ambiguous message concluded.
The 41-year-old hitmaker then reposted the prank on her story along with another lengthy message to her fans.
“I’m not complaining about this video … it’s actually really cute but with no sound it has a different effect!!!” Britney explained.
She continued: “For me it feels darker…similar things have been done to me so I look at this with different eyes!!!
“Most of my inner conflict with people is knowing the enemy is right in front of me but I kept them because I loved them!!!”
She then went on to say: “I’m extremely sensitive to anybody laughing at someone or bullying them in any way!!!”
Before dropping the bombshell: “There’s so much I’ve kept private that’s gone on with me personally and maybe one day I can let people know … until then, there’s 3 sides to every story!!!
It then seemed Britney was addressing someone directly: “Your side, my side and the truth!!! The child within is the trust, the girl in the middle is the truth …”
She then urged people to “watch it NOW with no sound,” referring to the prank.
