The search for our new Superman is underway! Currently, Tyler Hoechlin wears the red cape for The CW’s Superman & Lois series which is airing its third season and is still in renewal limbo on the network. Henry Cavill was the Kryptonian hero in the DCEU until Co-CEOs and chairmen Peter Safran and James Gunn decided to go in a different direction for the universe which is going to be connected (for the most part) going forward.
The next time we’ll see Clark Kent on the big screen it’ll be in the Gunn penned, Superman: Legacy. Not much is known about the film besides the fact that it won’t be an origin story for the superhero. Other than the plot, the big question fans of the Man of Steel have is who will step into the shoes of the Kansas-bred journalist and hero next.
According to Variety, our next Clark could be a former soap opera star. Here’s what we now!
The next Superman could be a former Bold and the Beautiful actor
Per the outlet, Pierson Fodé sent in a self-tape to audition for the role. The tape included footage of the actor’s childhood on a farm in Moses Lake, a small town in Washington state. Gunn reportedly liked what he saw.
Now this is not confirmation that Fodé is in the running to be our next Clark Kent or that he’s been shortlisted. Variety reached out to the actor’s rep and didn’t receive a comment, and Warner Bros. policy is not to comment on Superman: Legacy stories, however, it is noted in the report that a casting decision hasn’t been made yet.
So, for now, soap fans will continue to remember Fodé for his time as Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. His tenure in the role lasted from 2015-2018. We’ll have to wait and see if we’ll see him on the big screen as one of the most beloved superheroes of all time.
